Your company is now its own taxpayer. Even if it hasn't made a cent, SARS and CIPC expect a few things from it every year — and as a director, you're the one they hold responsible. Here's the whole list, in plain words.
Open a business bank account, so the company's money is never mixed with yours. Set the company up on SARS eFiling, and name a "public officer" — the person SARS talks to about the company. We do both for you.
This is the annual return, filed together with who really owns the company (beneficial ownership).
This is provisional tax (IRP6). It is due even if the company earned nothing — then it is simply a nil estimate.
This is the company income tax return (ITR14). Didn't trade? You still file — with a simple affidavit.
A payroll return to SARS by the 7th of every month (EMP201), two payroll reconciliations a year, and registration with the Compensation Fund (COIDA).
A tax clearance PIN, CSD registration and a B-BBEE affidavit. These only work when the three yearly items above are up to date.
Once the company's sales pass SARS's VAT threshold, it must register for VAT and submit VAT returns.
Send us your company registration number. We'll reply on WhatsApp with what's done, what's due and what's late — free of charge.
